1.  I never bill by the hour for estate planning services.  Most law firms engage in hourly billing, which is fine for open-ended litigation and negotiation cases. But with estate planning, we can fix the cost so you won't have any unpleasant surprises. You know before you ever hire us exacltly how much it will cost - no exceptions!

2.  I communicate with my clients - a lot.  Lawyers have a reputation for not retunring phone calls and avoiding client contact. This is never a good thing, especially in estate planning. How can I do a good, thorough job for you if you're afraid that every time you call you'll get another bill? We expect to speak a lot with you because we're doing important work for you, and it's critical that communication be open and easy.

3. I have diverse financial and legal experience. In addition to being an estate planning attorney, I am a licensed investment advisor, and President of Jamestown Wealth Management LLC, a Utah Registered Investment Advisory (RIA) firm with clients throughout the United States. We understand money - how it works, how its invested, and how it's taxed. 4.  I go the extra mile to make sure your children would never enter foster care.  If the unthinkable happens to you and your spouse, the police who go to your home aren't going to read and interpret your will.  They will call DCFS who will make a determination about where your children will go until permanent guardians are identified and located.  Our clients have a "First Response" packet that gives legal authority to immediate temporary guardians so your children would never go to a stranger's house in the middle of an already tragic situation.
